Functions and responsibilities

The person we are looking for will participate in the electronic design of Astus products as well as the associated test and debugging stations. More specifically, he/she will be required to:

  • Establish and suggest new product requirements and opportunities.
  • Design and share the overall architecture of the products to be developed.
  • Act as a technical expert in the selection of components and technologies used.
  • Select electronic components (integrated circuits, passive and active components).
  • Produce electrical schematics of electronic boards.
  • Carry out the routing of electronic boards (PCB) in compliance with good practices in terms of signal integrity, manufacturability and certifiability.
  • Prepare the documentation for the production of electronic boards (material list and manufacturing files)
  • Participate in product start-up and contribute to the creation of firmware.
  • Support the various parties involved in the manufacturing of the product (manufacturers, assembler, production department).
  • Ensure that the various stages of product certification are carried out correctly.
  • Write and maintain the design file including calculations, tests, verifications, validations, costs and approvals;

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
  • University degree (B. Ing. or equivalent) in electrical or electronic engineering;
  • 5 to 10 years experience in electronic circuit development including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, cellular modem, BLE/WiFi module, Flash memory, etc;
  • Ability to work with PCB design software (Altium designer) or other;
  • Bilingual (English, French) spoken and written;
  • Knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming;
