Senior Embedded Software Designer

Reporting to the Embedded Software Development Team Leader, the Embedded Software Designer will actively contribute to the architecture, development, validation and debugging of our embedded products. As part of a proud and dynamic team always looking for better ways to do things, the candidate will have to learn new technologies and methods to promote continuous improvement. The candidate will work primarily in a development context focused on automotive integration, IoT platforms, network, cellular and Bluetooth communications, GPS modules and external device integration. He/she will also be called upon to work with clients and partners located around the world and touching on a multitude of sectors of activity such as car sharing, passenger transportation, airport operations, etc.

Job description

  • Contribute to the development of new software solutions and participate in the development of hardware solutions.
  • Actively participate in the writing and review of architecture and design documents.
  • Investigate and find appropriate solutions to customer problems and implement these solutions.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability and consistency by participating in code reviews.
  • Share knowledge and provide assistance in a spirit of collaboration and team success.

Qualifications and requirements

  • University degree in software or electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 to 8 years of proven experience in embedded software design.
  • Excellent knowledge of the C language.
  • Excellent understanding of microcontrollers and multi-tasking operating systems (AWS FreeRTOS) as well as the challenges and strategies associated with development on resource-constrained platforms.
  • Excellent ability to debug complex problems.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols: CAN bus, I2C, SPI, Rs-232, TCP/IP, BLE.
  • Good knowledge of the operation of communication interfaces, control systems and sensor interfaces of automotive vehicles.
  • Good knowledge of tools and languages: Python, Perl, SQL, C#.
  • Experience with Eclipse development environment, Visual Studio code, Microsoft Teams and SVN and GIT tools are an asset.
  • Strong teamwork, cooperation and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, techniques and tools.
  • Rigor, autonomy, efficiency under pressure.
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of AI is an asset.
